Privacy policy
Parsly is a Chrome extension that collects a brand's ads from the Meta Ad Library and helps you make sense of them. In short: there is no Parsly server, no account and no analytics. What Parsly collects is saved in your browser and nowhere else.
Site access
Parsly has no access to any website when you install it. It asks for access to each site it works on, and only when you choose to allow it. Today that is one site, the Meta Ad Library on www.facebook.com. You can remove that access at any time in Parsly's Settings or in Chrome's extension settings.
What Parsly reads
When you start a collection on a Meta Ad Library tab, Parsly reads the ad results that page has loaded and scrolls it to load more. It only reads the Ad Library tab you started from, and only while the collection is running. It doesn't read other tabs, your browsing history, forms or passwords.
Reach and targeting details (optional)
If you turn on "Include reach & targeting", Parsly asks Facebook for each ad's details from inside the Ad Library page. These are the same requests the Ad Library makes when you open an ad, and they use your existing Facebook sign-in. The sign-in values needed for these requests are used only for them. Parsly never saves them or sends them anywhere else.
What Parsly stores
- Your collections (the ads, their details and when you collected them), in your browser's storage for the extension.
- A few preferences, such as your collection options and theme, in Chrome's extension storage on your device.
This data is not synced to any server. You can delete a collection from the Parsly side panel, and uninstalling Parsly deletes everything it stored.
Downloads
When you click Download CSV, the spreadsheet is created in your browser and saved straight to your computer.
Network requests
Parsly doesn't send anything to its developers, because there is no Parsly server. Its only network requests go to Facebook: the optional details requests above, and the ad images and videos shown in the side panel, which load from Facebook's servers just as they do on the Ad Library itself. Facebook's own privacy policy covers those requests.
No tracking or sharing
Parsly doesn't use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, cookies or any other tracking. It doesn't sell or share data with anyone.
Permissions
- Side panel: shows Parsly next to the page you're on.
- Storage: saves your preferences on your device.
- Scripting: runs Parsly's collector on the Ad Library tab when you start a collection.
- Site access to www.facebook.com (optional): asked for only when you allow it, and needed to read the Ad Library.
This website
parsly.to is a static website with no cookies, analytics or sign-in. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Children
Parsly isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone.
